Dr. Oz: Food Allergy and 2-Week Diet for Rapid Weight Loss

Dr. Mehmet Oz explored food allergies and sensitivity and gave a progress report on his two-week rapid weight loss diet on the July 25 episode of the Dr. Oz Show.

Millions of people unknowingly experience unwanted weight gain, chronic fatigue and digestive problems because they have a hidden food sensitivity or allergy.

“Your body has a secret,” said Dr. Oz. “You could be allergic to a food and not know it simply because you may not recognize the symptoms.”

Dr. Oz’s guest was nutritionist Nora Gedgaudas, author of Primal Body, Primal Mind: Beyond the Paleo Diet. Nina said the most common food sensitivities and allergies are to the following:

  • Corn
  • Dairy
  • Grains
  • Soy.

Dr. Oz said a food sensitivity or allergy wreaks havoc on your metabolism, skin, and digestive system, and noted the symptoms of food sensitivity:

  • Bloating
  • Weight gain
  • Fatigue
  • Joint pain
  • Brain fog
  • Congestion
  • Gas and diarrhea
  • Acid reflux
  • Skin rashes
  • Food cravings.

Dr. Oz said there are also emotional symptoms of food sensitivity, including mood swings, rage, anxiety and sadness. Gedgaudas said she suffered from food allergies for years but got rid of them after following an elimination diet.

On a previous episode, Dr. Oz revealed the meal plan for the Elimination Diet, which enhances weight loss and improves your emotional and physical health.

Progress Report on 2-Week Rapid Weight Loss Diet

On a separate segment, Dr. Oz gave an update on his Two-Week Rapid Weight Loss Diet.  Since introducing the diet in January 2014, over two million people have followed the 2-week rapid weight loss diet.

Dr. Oz’s 2-week rapid weight loss diet helped his audience members lose over 1,000 pounds combined (or 9 pounds apiece) in just 14 days. In addition to weight loss, dieters experienced improved sleep, better skin, and more energy.

Some people said the first few days of avoiding gluten, caffeine, sugar, and alcohol were tough, but the rapid weight loss and dramatic improvements in their health were worth the sacrifice.
