Supermodel Miranda Kerr Shares Diet and Workout Secrets

Miranda Kerr follows a low-carb organic diet and does yoga daily.

Miranda Kerr maintains her supermodel physique with a low-carb, gluten-free diet and daily yoga, Pilates and dance workouts.

“I exercise every day, even if it’s just 10 minutes of squats or yoga or lunges or butt lifts,” Miranda told Lucky. “It really makes a difference. Audrey Hepburn aged quite well [because she stayed active].”

Kerr said she usually starts her mornings with yoga and Mary Helen Bowers’ Ballet Beautiful workout DVDs. “I make sure I do half an hour of yoga in the morning so I’m feeling good,” she said.

“I try to do this little power-workout, Pace Express by Al Sears, four times a week. You do intervals with moves such as lunges, squats and star jumps. It’s only 12 minutes, so it’s definitely attainable. And you feel like you’ve had a good workout afterward.”

Because Miranda grew up climbing trees and running around outside at her grandparents’ farm in Australia, she maintains her active lifestyle, no matter how busy she gets.

Prays and Meditates Daily

Not surprisingly, Miranda easily lost the 40 pounds she gained during her 2010 pregnancy with son Flynn. Kerr usually starts off her mornings with a smoothie made of coconut water with goji berries, maca powder and vitamins.

She also has a cold-pressed green juice that includes kale, spinach, cucumber and celery twice a day. Breakfast is usually eggs with sauerkraut and avocado, or oatmeal with honey and goat’s milk. For lunch, Kerr has grilled fish and a salad with kale, spinach, broccoli, fennel, avocado, pine nuts and feta cheese. And dinner is usually lentil soup and steamed vegetables or roasted chicken.

Miranda, who’s divorced from actor Orlando Bloom, has remained good friends with her ex-husband, and said she doesn’t let emotional setbacks affect her upbeat outlook.

“Happiness is a choice we make,” she said. “No one can be consistently positive, but why not make the choice that makes you feel better rather than the one that drags you down?”

Miranda revealed her fitness, beauty, success and happiness secrets in her self-help book, Treasure Yourself: Power Thoughts for My Generation.
