Jessica Alba stays super-fit with a low-carb, Paleo-inspired diet and CrossFit workouts.

Alba is among a growing number of celebrities who do a combination of a Paleo-inspired diet and CrossFit to stay slim and toned.

Jessica also runs on the treadmill, does yoga, dances, and takes spinning classes.

Alba follows a low-carb, Paleo-style diet that features low-starch organic vegetables and fruits, and she avoids processed food.

For exercise, Alba trains with CrossFit coach Yumi Lee. Lee is married to CrossFit athlete Ron Mathews, who trains Joe Manganiello.

Manganiello has credited the low-carb Paleo diet and CrossFit for his rippling physique. Joe revealed his diet secrets and workout routine in his bestseller, Evolution.

Similarly, country superstar Tim McGraw lost 40 pounds with CrossFit and the Paleo diet. McGraw now has a rippling 8-pack for the first time in his life — at age 47.

Research shows the Paleo diet prevents cancer, diabetes, heart disease, depression, and even Alzheimer’s.

A recent study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition indicates the Paleo diet is twice as effective as other diets for promoting weight loss and reducing belly fat.

“Clinical trials have shown the Paleo diet is the optimum diet that can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, blood pressure, markers of inflammation, help with weight loss, reduce acne, promote optimum health and athletic performance,” said professor Loren Cordain, author of The Paleo Diet for Athletes and The Paleo Diet Cookbook.

CrossFit, a strength and conditioning program that combines weightlifting, sprinting and body-weight exercise, has soared, buoyed by the escalating popularity of the Paleo diet (most Paleos do CrossFit, and vice-versa).

While many people think CrossFit is only for people who are already in top shape, “The Biggest Loser” star Bob Harper said the program can help even morbidly overweight people slim down and tone up.

“I’m working with people who are 500 pounds and doing CrossFit on a regular basis,” said Bob, author of The Skinny Rules. “CrossFit just completely makes sense [as long as] you work at your level doing the things you can do with proper coaching.”
