Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards attributed her 7-pound weight loss to a sugar-free diet.

“I eat almost no sugar,” said Richards. “I’ve lost about seven pounds since last season. I’m only 5-foot-2, with big boobs and a butt, so it shows! I feel confident about my body now. I don’t hide behind a towel in a bathing suit.”

Diet expert Jorge Cruise agreed that eliminating sugar from one’s diet promotes rapid weight loss by inhibiting blood-sugar surges, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported.

“The key to weight loss is keeping insulin low by avoiding hidden sugars,” said Cruise, author of Happy Hormones, Slim Belly. Cruise said you can lost 18 pounds in two weeks by limiting sugar intake to about 100 calories a day.

In 2013, Kyle revealed that she had lost weight after getting liposuction. Richards said she opted for the cosmetic surgery because she was unable to get rid of her stubborn love handles through diet and exercise alone.

“After having four kids, no matter what exercise I did, the love handles wouldn’t go away,” Richards said. “I wanted to wear jeans and a tucked-in shirt and not feel self-conscious. I’m very happy with the results.”

The curvy 5-foot-2 Kyle, who has struggled with weight her entire life, also got a nose job in 2006 after being unhappy with her looks for years. While Richards is surrounded by lots of super-skinny women in Los Angeles, she said she’ll never starve herself to reach her body ideal.

“I’m willing to eat right and exercise, but not starve,” said Kyle, author of Life Is Not a Reality Show. “I have always battled my weight and have tried every diet imaginable. I’m just at a point in my life where being thin is not a priority.”
