Chris Noth Calls Carrie Bradshaw of ‘Sex and the City’ a Whore, Disses New York City

carrie bradshaw mr big sex and the cityChris Noth, who played the dashing Mr. Big on “Sex and the City,” says Carrie Bradshaw was a whore.

Noth is annoyed that Mr. Big was viewed as a jerk who strung Carrie (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) along, when Big was always honest about himself, unlike Carrie.

“He never tried to pretend he was anything other than what he was,” Chris told News.com. “It was [Carrie] who tried to pretend he was something he wasn’t. He was always honest about himself — he never cheated on her.

Noth added: “The relationship just didn’t work, and he went on to get married while she went on to … how many boyfriends did she have? She was such a whore! [laughs] There’s a misconception that Carrie was a victim of him, and that’s not the case. She was a strong, smart woman.”

In response, SATC co-creator Michael Patrick King said he’s sure Noth was joking. Chris, who has had tremendous success on other hit TV shows, including Law and Order and The Good Wife, is also bothered by the negative image “Sex and the City” gave to NYC

“The New York that ‘Sex and the City’ depicted is not the New York that I love,” said Noth. “New York was a much bigger, more interesting place than just fashion and glitz and all that crap. It’s become its own nightmare. It’s become Dubai, which is why I don’t spend much time there anymore.”

Chris, who owns a downtown NYC bar called the Cutting Room, is disappointed New York has become cheesy and uni-dimensional. “There used to be so many eclectic stores in New York,” he said.

“Go to Manhattan now and it’s nothing but drug stores and banks. It’s all about money. It’s almost like New York became the [fantasy] city that ‘Sex and the City’ depicted, which I find particularly boring.”

As for rumors of a Sex and the City 3 film, Noth said he’d love to do it, but he’s not certain a sequel is in the making.

“I’ll believe it when they say, ‘Action!’ and until then I don’t pay any attention,” he said. “[But] it would be a great thing.”
