Angelina Jolie Says Marriage To Brad Pitt Is Hard Work But She’s Happier Than Ever

Angelina_Jolie_Brad_Pitt_CannesAngelina Jolie confessed that marriage is hard work but she’s happier than ever since wedding Brad Pitt.

“Maintaining a marriage and raising kids can be hard work,” Angelina told The Weekly. “You have to really make sure that your work doesn’t get in the way. That you don’t do something that is going to put too much strain on your family.”

Jolie, who’s raising six children with Pitt, said the couple makes every effort to make sure their home life is loving and fulfilling.

“[Brad and I] work really hard at nurturing our family to make sure that everybody is alright and everyone stays connected,” said Angelina, who added that she is “very happy to be married” and loves calling Pitt “my husband.”

Jolie also said her children are amazing, and so fun to have around. “They’re six of the funniest people we have ever met in our lives,” said Angelina. “We love being home and we love being around them because they are just so entertaining.”

Jolie married Brad in August 2014 in a fairytale wedding ceremony at Chateau Miraval, their sprawling wine estate in the South of France. The couple met on the set of their 2004 blockbuster, Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Angelina said she wants to be an even better wife to Brad by learning how to cook for him. “We have more moments where I say, ‘I’m going to be a better wife,’” said Jolie. “‘I’m going to learn to cook.’

“And [Brad] says, ‘Oh, honey, know what you’re good at.’ But I do like, ‘No, no, no, I’m going to get this wife thing down.’ He knows my limitations and where I’m a good wife and a good mom.”

Angelina, who has been a United Nations goodwill ambassador since 2001, discussed how her charity work has changed her outlook on life in her diary, Notes from My Travels.

Jolie is currently promoting her new film, “Unbroken,” which details the remarkable life of Louis Zamperini, a former U.S. Olympian and WWII bombardier who survived more than two years of torture in a series of Japanese POW camps.

Angelina directed the movie “Unbroken,” which is based on the bestselling book, Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival.
