Brooke Burke Is a Stone Cold Fox: Low-Carb Diet, Yoga Workout and Weight Loss Secrets

Brooke Burke Charvet’s anti-aging fitness secrets are a low-carb diet and rigorous exercise.

Brooke Burke Charvet is smoking-hot at 44, thanks to a low-carb Mediterrean-inspired diet and rigorous exercise that includes yoga and Pilates.

The mother of four is doing well after overcoming a thyroid cancer scare. Brooke underwent thyroid surgery to remove a benign tumor in her throat in December 2012, and said exercise is her antidepressant, Examiner reported.

“Working to fatigue and pushing yourself to your limit every time you work out is what I’m totally into,” she said. “I’m smarter [about my body] than I was in my 20s and 30s.”

Burke Charvet, who follows a low-carb Mediterranean diet, said eating well is important for looking and feeling her best.

“We try to eat a Mediterranean diet: lots of greens, lots of fish, lots of vegetables,” Brooke said. “I never miss breakfast. I believe in good fuel and putting the right things in our body and drinking a lot of water and getting enough sleep. It all starts with nutrition.”

Burke, who got breast implants during her 20s, said women who get too much plastic surgery scare her. “Women who do too much scare me,” she said. “I was married to a plastic surgeon, so I’ve seen it all. If a woman has done a bit of work, you should never know.”

Over the years, Brooke has released a line of highly rated fitness videos. She revealed her diet, workout and weight loss secrets in her best-selling DVD, Brooke Burke Body: 30-Day Slim Down.

Burke also teaches a workout class several days a week in Malibu, where she lives, and goes to Pilates classes.

As she has gotten older, Brooke has learned to exercise smarter, not longer. Her workouts never exceed an hour, but she gets great results by pumping up the intensity.

“I’m totally working out harder than ever before, but I’m doing it in a smarter, quicker way,” Burke said. “I don’t have more than an hour to spend anywhere, anytime.”

Brooke does SoulCycling spinning workouts, lifts light weights and does calisthenics, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported. She also does yoga and Pilates to stay lean and toned.

Brooke also said corset waist training was responsible for her stunning post-baby weight loss after each of her four pregnancies.

“Wrapping your post-partum belly is a concept that has been around for centuries,” said Burke, who has her own line of belly wraps called Baboosh.

“It works as a compression garment. It helps the swelling of the uterus go back down to its original size and it supports all that baggy baby skin. It is a great, great way to get back in shape.”

While many Hollywood celebrities dread getting older, Brooke is proud of how she looks and feels. “I work hard for [my fit physique], so I feel really good,” said Burke. “It’s a commitment, and it feels good to be in shape.”

Brooke revealed how she juggles motherhood, a happy marriage, fitness and a flourishing career in her memoir, The Naked Mom.
