Katherine Heigl’s bikini body fitness secrets are a high-protein diet and kettlebell workouts.

Katherine Heigl wowed fans after flaunting her hot bikini body while vacationing in Mexico.

Heigl, 36, was on holiday with her husband, Josh Kelley, and their adopted daughters, Nancy Leigh and Adalaide Marie.

“Having the time of my life in Punta Miita Mexico. #familyvacation2015,” a bikini-clad Katherine wrote on Instagram.

Heigl, who stars on the hit TV series State of Affairs, previously said her fitness secrets are a high-protein diet and 25-minute workouts with her trainer, Harley Pasternak, author of 5 Pounds: The Breakthrough 5-Day Plan to Jump-Start Rapid Weight Loss.

According to Examiner, Heigl did cardio and circuit-training sessions of 25 to 50 minutes up to five times a week with Pasternak, who also wrote the bestseller, The Body Reset Diet.

Pasternak also trains Halle Berry, Lady Gaga, Jessica Simpson and Kim Kardashian. A sample daily menu for Katherine Heigl is simple and delicious:

  • Breakfast: French toast with ricotta pillows
  • Mid-morning snack: A mixed-berry shake
  • Lunch: TexMex salad with chicken and black beans
  • Afternoon snack: Hummus crudite
  • Dinner: Sea bass with brown rice and edamame

Katherine also does kettlebell workouts, which have been shown to blast body fat and burn lots of calories.

“I was probably in the best shape of my life for ‘Knocked Up’ but I hated going to the gym,” said Heigl. “I’ve now found a woman who teaches kettlebell classes. It’s a mix of cardio and weight training but I only do it for 20 minutes twice a week and it’s changed my body shape.”
