If you’re like most people, you feel physically exhausted and emotionally overwhelmed a lot of the time. You may think this is an inevitability of getting older or is due to your hectic schedule.

But Warner, author of the bestselling weight loss book, This Is Why You’re Fat (and How to Get Thin Forever), said you can eliminate chronic fatigue, enjoy better sleep and become happier by making a few small lifestyle changes.

When Jackie was in college, she ballooned from 118 pounds to 169 pounds, Examiner reported. “I was alone in L.A. and it was a huge culture shock,” said Warner, an Ohio native. “I was depressed and ate junk food every day.”

Instead of giving in to depression and hopelessness, Warner lost 50 pounds in 4 months by overhauling her diet, working out and walking a lot.

“It took four months,” Jackie recalls. “I was ambitious, and knew I wouldn’t get anywhere carrying all that insecurity. So I started walking to school every morning, exercising and eating healthy.”

Warner empathizes with the discontentment her overweight clients feel carrying around those extra pounds. “I was miserable and felt so out of control [at my heaviest],” recalled Jackie, who has her own line of bestselling workout DVDs. “I tried covering up with baggy clothes, but I was insecure from the time I woke up until I went to sleep.”

  • You don’t need to detox or cleanse or anything. Eat more plants, more fruit, to have tons more energy. Losing weight, that’s a whole different story. Losing weight is freaking hard as can be, especially with so much information out there on the right way or wrong way to lose fat. Foods we can’t eat, exercises we gotta do, it’s enough to drive somebody crazy.

    It ain’t just about eating less and moving more or counting calories and weighing all your food. Sure, that stuff works for a little bit but it only gets you so far and then once you stop that diet you just gain it all back (and usually extra weight!). My wife and I lost right around 115 pounds (between the 2 of us) in just under 3 months (we tried different diets and reviewed them on our website) and I still have another 20-30 lbs but my wife is done with hers.
