Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton closed down Bergdorf Goodman to get a $600 haircut at the exclusive John Barrett Salon.
Hillary is reportedly a regular client of John Barrett, who typically charges $600 for a haircut. An additional $600 is tacked on for a dye job.
“Staff closed off one side of Bergdorf’s so Hillary could come in privately to get her hair done,” a source told Page Six. “An elevator bank was shut down so she could ride up alone and then she was styled in a private area of the salon.”
As one would expect with any high-profile celebrity, Clinton was tended to privately to avoid paparazzi and fans. “Other customers didn’t get a glimpse,” said the insider. “Hillary was later seen with a new feathered hairdo.”
This isn’t a the first time a Clinton haircut has made headlines. In 1993, Hillary’s husband Bill, who was then president of the United States, had Air Force One idling at Los Angeles International Airport for an hour as he received a $200 trim.
Bill’s haircut was called the “most expensive haircut in the world” for forcing two surrounding LAX runways to be shut down, diverting several flights.
In 2014, Hillary told ABC News she and Bill were “dead broke” when they left the White House in 2001.
“We came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt,” said Clinton. “We had no money and we struggled to piece together the resources for mortgages, for houses, for Chelsea’s education. It was not easy.”
Meanwhile, Hillary received an $8 million book advance for her memoir Living History shortly before she left the White House, according to Mother Jones. The Clintons also bought two homes (for a combined $4.5 million) shortly before Bill’s presidency was up.
