Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly was slammed on social media after calling Donald Trump’s past comments about women’s looks sexist during the first Republican presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio, Aug. 6.
“You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals,” Megyn said to Trump. The Donald joked, “Only Rosie O’Donnell.”
Kelly followed up by asking if Trump’s comments are part of what Hillary Clinton has called the “war on women.” “Does that sound like the temperament of a man we should elect as president?” Megyn asked.
Trump replied that he doesn’t have time for political correctness because he’s too busy getting things done.
“The big problem this country has is being politically correct,” said Donald, author of Never Give Up: How I Turned My Biggest Challenges into Success.
“I’ve been challenged by so many people, and frankly, I don’t have time for total political correctness. And honestly, this country doesn’t have time. What I say — it’s funny, we’re kidding. What I say is what I say.”
After the debate, Trump went after Kelly on Twitter, retweeting follower comments calling Megyn a bimbo, unprofessional and biased. “I really enjoyed the debate tonight even though the @FoxNews trio, especially @megynkelly, was not very good or professional!” Trump tweeted Aug. 7.
Trump told reporters in the spin room after the debate Kelly unfairly singled him out with the sexism question but it didn’t matter because he won anyway.
“I thought it was an unfair question,”said Donald, author of The Art of the Deal. “They didn’t ask those questions of anybody else. But you know what? The answers were good, obviously, because everyone thinks I won.”
To be fair, Trump made those comments well before he was a presidential candidate. As an entertainer and owner of the Miss USA and Miss Universe beauty pageants, making judgments about women’s looks was, frankly, part of his schtick.
Meanwhile, Megyn Kelly has undergone a dramatic transformation after a rumored nose job and other cosmetic enhancements. Kelly has capitalized on her bleached blonde looks to become a star at Fox News, whose roster is packed with Fembot busty blondes who could pass for her clones.
