Cindy Crawford Talks Unretouched Photos: Her Anti-Aging Beauty, Diet And Exercise Secrets

Cindy Crawford slammed the controversy surrounding her unretouched photos from Marie Claire magazine, calling the posting of those unflattering bikini photos “malicious.”

Crawford claims the unretouched photos that were posted on social media were not real and made her look a lot worse than she does in real life.

“It was stolen and it was malicious, but there was so much positive reaction [to the image],” Cindy told Elle. I felt really manipulated and conflicted, so I kept my mouth shut.”

Crawford, 49, said many women reacted positively to the unflattering unretouched pictures because it made them feel better about their own imperfect bodies.

“Sometimes the images that women see in magazines make them feel inferior even though the intention is never to make anyone feel less,” said Cindy. “So somehow seeing a picture of me was like seeing a chink in the armor. Whether it was real or not isn’t relevant, although it’s relevant to me.”

Crawford added: “I don’t try to present myself as perfect. It put me in a tough spot: I couldn’t come out against it because I’m rejecting all these people who felt good about it, but I also didn’t embrace it because it wasn’t real. And even if it were real, I wouldn’t have wanted it out there. I felt really manipulated and conflicted, so I kept my mouth shut.”

Meanwhile, Crawford has aged beautifully and remains wrinkle-free despite approaching 50 and being the mom of two teenagers.

Cindy uses sunscreen every day to prevent wrinkles. “I use SPF day cream every day, cleanser every day and night,” said Crawford.

Cindy’s anti-aging fitness secrets include a low carb diet and regular workouts featuring yoga, Pilates, hiking and weight lifting, Examiner reported.

While her stunning beauty has made her rich and famous, Cindy doesn’t obsess over getting older. “I don’t want to look in the mirror every day and be down on myself,” she explained.

Crawford added: “I’m holding together pretty good, but I don’t look like I did when I was 25 or 30 or even 40. What I’m finding for myself is that if I continue to be engaged, to do what I love, that’s how I get my self-esteem cup filled. I get a lot of that from my family and work.”

Cindy keeps her hair lustrous and strong by using Oribe and Wen shampoos and products.

“I really like Oribe for color-treated hair—that’s what I’m using now,” said Crawford. “I also really like Wen for days when I’m not shooting because I feel like it doesn’t strip your hair at all.”

Crawford keeps the rest of her body looking good with simple, inexpensive treatments.

“I use Neutrogena Body Oil on my body after I shower and Elemis has a dry brush I use before I shower,” Cindy said. “It’s so invigorating, there’s nothing else like it.”
