Mariah Carey Shows Off Trim Figure Post Baby Birth (photos)

Singer Mariah Carey is working hard to lose her pregnancy weight and showed off her progress over the weekend by releasing photos of herself, looking slim and fit.

The photos were taken of Mariah Sept. 30 while she was walking her dogs in New York City.

“And they call it puppy love… me & dem pups at is again!” she wrote along with the photos on Twitter.

The 40-year-old diva gave birth to twins Monroe and Moroccan Scott in April.

Since then, she’s been dieting and working out to shed the baby weight, said husband Nick Cannon, who hosts “America’s Got Talent.”

“She does long, long hours on the treadmill,” said Cannon, who adds that Mariah also does low-impact cardio in the swimming pool.

“Obviously [she pays attention to her] diet and eating properly.”

Mariah, who has battled weight issues for years, was thinner than ever in 2008 after following a strict high-protein, low-calorie, low-carb diet and working out 60-90 minutes a day.

Carey’s weight has since fluctuated, but husband Nick gushes that the Grammy winner is more determined than ever to regain slender 1990′s physique.

“I personally think she’s going to come out looking better — looking like it’s 1990!” gushes Cannon, 30.

“I think that’s what she’s aiming for, and I think she’ll reach that goal.”

Mariah said being pregnant was hard. “My body went through so much – you have to keep those twins in as long as possible, but it’s a sacrifice you make for them,” she said.

Nick recently said that his children’s personalities are already evident, with Monroe a lot like her famous mother.

“My daughter is a diva. My son is laid back. When he wakes up, he wakes up smiling. He’ll wait for a minute and if he’s hungry, he’ll let you know.

“My daughter is just instant, she goes in and will not stop crying til you give her what she wants. It’s like sleep and then screaming,” he said.

“My daughter is just on one all the time.”
