Actress Mila Kunis, who was just named GQ’s “Knockout of the Year,” is one of the few actresses who has been outspoken about Hollywood’s superficial obsession with youth and female body image.

Kunis, 28, brings a lot more to the table than that.

She acted in commercials and television shows as a child and got a leg up in the industry as a cast member on “That ’70s Show.” Her star turn opposite Natalie Portman in “Black Swan” put her over the top.

Now if she can only get producers to focus on her instead of always talking to her breasts.

“If you’re an attractive female in this industry, people just take you as that: attractive,” says Mila. “People aren’t getting the opportunity to move beyond being attractive.

“It’s not only with comedy. It could be with drama or action or whatever. People are distracted by looks. It happens. I’m not saying it happened to me, but it happens.”

More than likely it happens to her as well. Kunis, who is Russian, can look the part of a dark, sultry vixen, although her sex appeal is not something she takes too seriously.

“I’m in an industry based on rejection, on negativity and let-downs,” she said.

“People are rejected [for film roles] every single day purely based on opinion, about who’s a good actress, who’s a bad actress, who’s pretty, who’s ugly, who’s fat, who’s skinny.

“So why go there? You have to have a positive outlook. Otherwise you’re in a very dark place.”

She also believes life is so much mind over matter, especially when it comes to diet and health.

“When people say, ‘I can’t lose weight’, [I say] no, you can,” Kunis told the magazine. “Your body can do everything and anything. You just have to want to do it.”

The 5’3″ Mila, who slimmed down from 115 to 95 pounds for “Black Swan,” through a 1200-calorie-a-day diet and grueling exercise discovered that truism for herself.

“I don’t think I ever fully realized what a human body is capable of doing,” she says.

Although thin is supposed to be in, Kunis says she hated her looks when she weighed 95 pounds.
