“Twilight’s” Nikki Reed has emerged as a star in her own right in the vampire series, even though she plays a supporting character to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. She tell’s Self magazine her style, like her movie career, is “eclectic.”
“I’ve picked up things from all the places I’ve visited and lived around the world,” the 23-year-old actress says in the magazine’s December issue.
As for her career, it got off to an auspicious start. She co-wrote with Catherine Hardwicke the semi-autobiographical screenplay for the controversial, but critically acclaimed 2003 movie “Thirteen” and she co-starred in the film.

She also had a role in another Hardwicke directed film, 2005′s classic skateboard movie “Lords of Dogtown.”
The cast included a virtual who’s who of young Hollywood, including the late-Heath Ledger, America Ferrera, Sofía Vergara, Michael Angarano and Emile Hirsch.
Although “Thirteen” was about teen promiscuity and drug use, Reed says she was a virgin when she made the film and has since adopted a healthy life style.
Her big accomplishment, she says, was quitting smoking two years ago.
“When you do that, your whole lifestyle changes, like the places you want to go to eat or the people you surround yourself with,” she says. “I started exercising and I hike almost every day with my dog [a German Shepard, Enzo]. It’s incredible.”
Reed also recently married American Idol finalist Paul McDonald, 27, this fall;
The magazine describes her personal style as “equally effervescent, a quintessential Californian brew of chic and relaxed.”
In the “Twilight” series, Reed plays the sister of vampire Jasper Hale played by Jackson Rathbone and she’s married to Emmett Cullen, played by Kellan Lutz.
Her character is hostile toward Bella (Kristen Stewart) and jealous that Edward (Robert Pattinson) could be attracted to her because she is human. Yet she longs to be human herself.
“At some point I’d like to have a jewelry line. The last place I lived was Greece so I got really into the evil eye. It’d be cool to get an evil eye tattoo on my outer wrist,” she says.
