Christina Aguilera Brushes Off Critics of Her Curvy Body

Christina Aguilera is pushing back against critics, including radio shock jock Howard Stern, who have blasted the singer for a couple of recent appearances where she sausaged into tight dresses that bulged at the seams.

Christina, who is a petite 5′ 2″ tall, began packing on pounds in the fall of 2010, following her split from music producer-husband Jordan Bratman.

She was spotted in Los Angeles earlier this week filming her new music video. She was wearing a skin-tight black mini-dress with cutouts that showed off her cleavage and rear end.

“The challenge I’ve always had is being too thin, so I love that now I have a booty, and obviously I love showing my cleavage,” Aguilera says in a new interview in Lucky magazine. “If you can work it and you can own it, that confidence is going to shine through [regardless of your size].”

But the editors of Lucky did her no favors. Her cover photo is noticeably digitally altered to make her look thinner, adding fuel to the controversy. Her face is much thinner and her body has been slimmed to give her more shape.

In December 2010 following her break up, semi-nude photos of Aguilera leaked online. At the time she was struggling to make a music comeback after a four-year layoff.

These days, Aguilera, the mother of four-year-old son Max, is back at the top of her game. She stars on singing talent show, “The Voice,” with CeeLo Green, Adam Levine of Maroon 5 and country singer Blake Shelton. She holds her own against the guys and isn’t afraid to express her opinion.

Aguilera is also working on a new album that will feature a more mature sound. “As a 30-year-old woman, I’ve been uncovering my independence, and it’s been really fun to explore in the new songs,” she says.
