Reese Witherspoon has given birth to a baby boy Tennessee James, her third child and first with new husband Jim Toth. She has two children by a previous marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe.

“Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth welcomed Tennessee James into their family today [Thursday, Sept. 27],” a rep said in a statement. “Both mom and baby are healthy and the entire family is thrilled.”

Witherspoon, 36, divorced Phillippe, 37, in 2006 after seven years of marriage. They have a daughter Ava, 12, and son, Deacon, eight. She married Toth, then her agent in March 2011.

The “Water for Elephants” star had one medical scare during her pregnancy. She was forced to spend a few days in a Los Angeles hospital last month, after she thought she was going in to premature labor, according to reports.

Witherspoon announced her pregnancy in June. “I’m feeling very round tonight. After I finish [filming] ‘The Devil’s Knot’, I’m going to take a little time off – and go have a baby!”

“Right after the wedding, Reese expressed a desire to have a baby with Jim,” a source told People in March. “Reese has been very open with her kids about her plans to expand the family.”

Reese has two films in post-production, “The Devil’s Knot” and “Mud.” The former, starring Kevin Durand, Stephen Moyer, Colin Firth, Elias Koteas and Bruce Greenwood, is based on the true story of the “West Memphis Three”, all teens who were falsely accused of killing three young boys and sentenced to life in prison.

“Mud,” directed by Jeff Nichols and also starring Matthew McConaughey, Tye Sheridan and Jacob Lofland, competed for the Palme d’Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. It’s about two teen boys, who encounter a fugitive and help him elude bounty hunters as he journeys to re-unite with his true love.
