Megan Fox: Hollywood Takes a Back Seat to My Child (photos!)

meganfox-marieclaireuk-frontMegan Fox, one of young Hollywood’s most alluring women, is making a tough choice that faces so many professional women. She’s deciding between her career and her new baby boy. Guess which one she’s choosing?

Fox’s career is still hot despite a string of flops and a bitter falling out with Transformers Director Michael Bay. She recently starred in Judd Apatow’s comedy “This is 40.”

But she’s planning to put her career on hold for now, if not indefinitely, to spend more time with her son, Noah, who was born in September, she tells the British edition of Marie Claire magazine.

“I recognize the blessings when they come –- like, I recognize I’m so lucky to work with Judd,” she says. “But the ultimate satisfaction for me is being with my son,” she adds.

“All I wanted to do my whole, whole life was have a baby and, now, I’ve finally done it.”

With her son now front and center in her life, she says her career just didn’t seem all that important anymore. “It’s very hard for me to do this stuff, because I feel like this isn’t my job anymore,” she says of movie-making.

“My job is to be with him. I just want to give Noah as much of myself as I can. And I want to have more kids. That is where my heart is.”

Fox’s film resume includes two “Transformers” films, but her star turns in 2009’s “Jennifer’s Body” and 2010’s “Jonah Hex,” with Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Michael Fassbender, proved to be disappointments.

Not that it’s slowed her career. She gone on to appear in five more films, including Sacha Baron Cohen’s “The Dictator,” and Apatow’s “This is 40.”

For many professional women, who grew up with the expectation they would have a career, staying at home with children is being called the “New American Dream,” according to Forbes.

According to a Forbes survey, 84 percent of working women said that staying home to raise children is a financial luxury they aspire to and resent their spouses for not making enough money to allow them to do so.
