Sofia Vergara, best known for her role on hit sitcom Modern Family, won’t be walking the red carpet for the 85th Academy Awards tonight, after she was hospitalized for an unknown aliment, according to reports.
Vergara, 40, will reportedly undergo surgery, but sources close to the star told London’s Daily Mail that Sofia is not in any danger.
She was last seen in public Friday (Feb. 22), dining out with her fiance Nick Loeb at the West Hollywood eatery BOA Steakhouse. She was also supposed to appear at Madonna’s Oscar party.
Her sitcom is currently filming new episodes and she worked throughout the week. Before that she was in New York.
The HuffingtonPost reported, citing another “source,” that Vergara was not in the hospital and that “she is totally fine.” But there was no word on whether she would be attending the Oscars, where she is always a red carpet favorite because of her sexy dresses.
Vergara stars on the ABC series as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, Jay’s wife and Manny’s mother. She has been nominated for three Golden Globe Awards, three Primetime Emmy Awards and three Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Comedy Actress.
Vergara has had an on-again, off-again relationship with Loeb. Last month they reportedly hit a rough patch and called off their search for a Beverly Hills home to share, according to The New York Post.
But they seem to be going strong now.
