Singer Nelly Furtado has blasted Madonna over her freakish effort to look young and the lengths she goes to maintain her looks. The 30-year-old “Maneater” singer, who is 20 years younger than the Material Girl, insists she won’t try to make herself appear younger to boost her career.
Furtado says she would rather enjoy tea and biscuits than undertake a grueling exercise regime like Madonna’s.
“I am not ready to adjust physically, just to be marketable. My sell-by date will run out eventually,” she said.
“Unlike Madonna, I wouldn’t be willing to do Pilates round the clock, just to slow down the deterioration of my body. I prefer to sit in the kitchen, drink tea and eat biscuits,” she added.
Nelly is married to sound engineer Demacio Castellon and has a six-year-old daughter, Nevis, from a previous relationship.
She took a two-year break after she finished promoting her 2006 album Loose and says she enjoyed having the time to lead a more normal life.
“After the tour I was terribly exhausted and had to find a way back to a healthy routine. I cooked chicken soup for my family and just enjoyed everyday life. The small things that make you happy are important to me,” she said in a recent interview.
Let’s just ask Furtado how she feels in 20 years.
Furtado performed Sunday night (Nov. 22) with Timbaland the super-producer’s new artist SoShy, on “Morning After Dark,” the first single from Timbo’s Shock Value II album, due Dec. 8.

Nellie, what does it matter whether Madonna does Pilates 24/7 or not or you want to eat “tea and biscuits”? You are two different people and what’s good for her may not be good for you and vice versa.
Not too mention life is a long journey, it’s impossible for you to say what you’ll do in 20 years from now because you are talking from your “current” set of experiences. By the time 20 years go by, you may be in totally different place in your life and your outlooks and desires may change.
Take care!!
