Miley Cyrus and her brother, Trace Cyrus are getting matching tattoos — as soon as Miley turns 18, that is, next year. Is this healthy behavior? Does the family that tattoos together, stay together?
Trace also revealed that he and step-dad Billy Ray Cyrus have matching tattoos while mom, Tish Cyrus, is getting one soon.
Trace, who plays in the band Metro Station, is festooned with body art. He recently got a tattoo matching his singer father Billy Ray’s and now says he can’t wait to share tattoo designs with Miley. In most states, you have to be at least 18 to get a tattoo.
“I already have a matching one with my dad, there’s no reason I wouldn’t do it with my siblings. Someone you’re that close to, it’s something that means something to you obviously, so why wouldn’t you do it?” he said.
Trace says he and Miley have grown close since they have been touring together and often swap relationship tips with one another. Miley is reportedly dating Liam Hemsworth, her co-star in her latest film.
But she said in a recent interview that her dating skills leave a lot to be desired.
“Oh, I’m not really good at dating. The whole game often ends with a broken heart. And I really know how much a broken heart hurts. I wouldn’t do that to anyone,” she says.
It’s frustrating. Whenever I want to be alone with a boy the paparazzi follow us. Sometimes I would like to wear a wig – like Hannah Montana. Then I’d have a more private life for sure,” she adds.
But Trace said Miley is good about helping him with girl problems. “I talk to her about boys she’s talking to. She has a smart head on her shoulders and anything that she decides is going to be the right decision,” he told OK! magazine.
Trace, 20, also talked about his mother’s plans to get matching tattoos.
“My mom’s going to get a ribcage tattoo that is definitely the biggest tattoo she’s ever gotten. I’m definitely proud of her for that,”
“It will definitely be a little bit different of an experience for me. I’ve never gone to get a tattoo with my mom ever. She’s taken me to get a tattoo but we’ve never both gotten one at the same time,” he added.
No word yet on what kind of tattoo Miley will get. Let’s hope she keeps it small and out of sight.

why do they need matching tattoos? I can’t believe the parents support and encourage it. they look so tacky, especially when you get dressed up.
mileys already gotten a tattoo on hr left rib cage. it says ‘just breathe’ which is the name of the cystic fibrosis campaingn, in memory of her friend who died from cystic fibrosis. go miley! :)
There is nothing wrong with that at all. I have my dads name tattooed on my foot and a matching tattoo with my lil sister.
