In a quest to keep up with younger starlets, Jennifer Aniston is reportedly trying a controversial diet based on eating baby food to slim down. If true, she could be putting her health at risk.
Dance star Lady Gaga recently lost a substantial amount of weight and was rumored to be eating only baby food.
She set off alarm bells after she collapsed on stage during grueling performances last year and was forced to cancel several shows.
“Everyone is really worried about GaGa. She’s not eating healthily at all. She’s substituting meals for jars of baby food,” a friend to UK music magazine Heat.
Gaga’s reps have since denied she is on a baby food diet.
Although the diet can produce rapid weight loss, its nutritional and health effects are under question. Since a jar of baby food usually contains no more than 100 calories, the diet amounts to controlled starvation.

A prolonged diet lacking in protein and fiber, can also cause gallstones, damage muscles and lead to exhaustion, according to nutritional experts.
Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson reportedly put Aniston on a baby food diet that involves eating about 14 jars a day of pureed food and one adult-size dinner.
Jen has reportedly lost seven pounds in the past week as she films “Just Go With It” in Hawaii, according to gossip Web site Hollyscoop.
Aniston is currently filming with Nicole Kidman, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker and Adam Sandler.
The movie involves some bikini time and Aniston was said to have felt self-conscious around Decker, who is half her age.
“I developed a cleanse where you can still eat and it’s a lot of puree foods. I was very careful about the foods I chose to put in it,” Tracy said.
“When you do these liquid cleanses I felt a responsibility to come up with something. Liquid cleanses do help you lose weight but you will gain more the next week.
“I wanted something where you can eliminate toxicity, break bad habits but still have your digestive system going. That is when the baby food cleanse was born.”
Tracy also trains Gwyneth Paltrow and was Madonna’s trainer until recently. Reese Witherspoon also has reportedly tried the diet.
