Penélope Cruz for Lancôme: Find the Natural Beauty in Yourself (photos)

Penélope Cruz is one of Hollywood’s natural beauties. She not only can act — she won an Oscar for Woody Allen’s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” — she also is known for her arresting sensuality on the big screen. Yet she is surprisingly down to earth.

It’s no surprise Lancôme’s Trésor perfume tapped Cruz to be the face of its fragrance.

In new photos shot by Mario Testino, Cruz told London’s Daily Mail she is a very visual person.

“Since I was a very, very little girl, I was always amazed by the feeling that I could get from an image, like the ads Lancôme did with Isabella Rossellini for Trésor.

“With no words, no explanations – just an image can take you to a world and make you feel very real. But also magical,” she said.

Cruz earlier this month married Spanish actor Javier Bardem, best known for his role in Clint Eastwood’s “No Country for Old Men.”

Cruz was recently spotted shooting the Lancome campaign in Paris.

The star of the upcoming “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” posed on a balcony at the famous Hotel Crillon, with a classic updo and elegant, one-shouldered black dress.

Lancôme’s Trésor in Love is available in Europe and launching in the United States this fall.

Penélope, like most women, was uncertain about her looks and experimented with her appearance. But today, she’s comfortable in her own skin.

The definition of voluptuousness, she has strong views about the pressures on young girls to be thin.

“I would close down all those teenage magazines that encourage young girls to diet,’ she says.

“Who says that to be pretty you have to be thin? Some people look better thin and some don’t. There is almost a standard being created where only thin is acceptable. The influence of those magazines on girls as young as 13 is horrific.”

Penélope feels almost as strongly about the pressure on women to stay young for ever, according to the Mail.

“I never want to lie about my age,” she says. “‘If I look around at the actresses I admire, they are all women who have not fought growing older, but embraced it – women like Sophia Loren or Audrey Hepburn.”
