Suzanne Somers: More Cancer Controversy

Suzanne-Somers

Actress Suzanne Somers, an outspoken medical activist who opposes many forms of aggressive medical treatment, has a special loathing for chemotherapy. And, she’s riling the medical community over it — again.

The 63-year-old actress who caused a controversy when she criticized late actor Patrick Swayze’s treatment for pancreatic cancer, has just published a new book called, “Knockout,” bashing  traditional cancer therapies.

“We use current treatments because they’ve been proven to prolong life. They’ve gone through a logical, scientific method of evaluation. I don’t know if Suzanne Somers even knows there is a logical, scientific method,” Dr. Otis Brawley, chief medical officer of the American Cancer Society told the Associated Press.

Somers’ feelings about the efficacy of alternative treatments for cancer are shared by other celebrities. Radio host Don Imus, for example, eats habanero peppers and Japanese soy supplements to treat his prostate cancer.

The late Farrah Fawcett tried both traditional and alternative treatments, and made a poignant plea for supporting alternative methods in her film, “Farrah’s Story.”

Actress Jenny McCarthy advocates a special diet, supplements, metal detox and delaying vaccines to treat autism.

Barron Lerner, a doctor who’s studied the impact of celebrity medical advocacy, says celebrities can influence public opinions about treatment.

Somers has written a series of books advocating alternative treatments for a range of maladies, including defying aging through the use of supplements, hormones and creams.

And, controversy seems to follow her where ever she goes. She touched off a firestorm of criticism after Oprah seemingly endorsed her methods during her show.

Sommers is largely unrepentant for her views, although she did apologize to Swayze’s family for asserting that chemotherapy killed him rather than the cancer. “I apologized to his family.” But she added: “We all know that chemotherapy does nothing for pancreatic cancer.”

KNOWLEDGE IS THE CURE FOR CANCER !!!!!

Suzanne, please continue to use your celebrity status as a platform to spead this lifesaving information. PEOPLE DONT HAVE TO DIE ANYMORE
BECAUSE OF A CANCER DIAGNOSIS !!! It’s all about your diet!

I was diagonsed with breast cancer last October. I decieded against traditional treatment because, at the age of 12, I watched my Mother die a horrible death from breast cancer. My Mom had been sick and, in and out of the hospital for over a year and a half. She had had a double radical
mastectomy and several rounds of chemotherapy. She never really ever recovered, she just had her bad days and her worse days. At the time of her death, she was 5’7″ and weighed 65 pounds. For months prior, I would go to bed at night and pray, “GOD, please just let her die, I’ll be okay,
    please, just take her”.

My Father, died on June 20, 1972(19 days earlier than my Mother). A few weeks before his death, he was diagnosed with advanced stages of lung cancer. He never recieved any treatment for the cancer that he obviously had been living with for some time, only treatment to ease his pain.

After my diagnosis, I got on the internet and read, 24/7. The answers are out there. There are alternative treatments. My parents didn’t have to die from cancer when I was 12. The treatment of cancer patients has become an “Industry”, and the cure, a consiracy of mamoth proportions.

I have been living with breast cancer for over a year now; practicing many of the alternative treatments found at alkalizeforhealth.com (an excellant summary of many alternative treatments)my cancer seems to be responding to these alternative treatments, I feel good, sometimes I am more tired than usual but all and all, I am 100% better off than my Mom was a year after her diagnosis.

KNOWLEDGE IS THE CURE FOR CANCER, SPREAD THE WORD………….

Way to go Suzanne! It’s about time people started to learn how to take care of themselves instead of trying to cure themselves with poison after it’s too late. To admit this would mean that the goons in the FDA and mainstream medicine were wrong all this time… NO WAY will they ever admit error. You gotta know that MONEY and EGO are powerful players here. The majority of “sheeple” will always trust mainstream. Thanks for standing up Suzanne. We hear you and support you. Pharmaceuticals? pffffft
