Demi Moore, Ageless, But Unhappy With How Others See Her Age

demimoore1Demi Moore doesn’t understand how she became the poster child for cougars, the pop-culture term used for older women who date younger men.

“I’m certainly not the first person to be in a relationship with a younger man, but somehow I was plucked out as a bit of a poster girl,” Moore says in the Dec. issue of W magazine. “I don’t know why that is. I’d prefer to be called a Puma.”

And the difference would be?

Moore, 47, who has been married to Ashton Kutcher, 31, since 2005, continues to look fit and fabulous despite juggling a busy career and hectic family life.

Demi recently made headlines when she denied having had any plastic surgery to enhance her good looks.

Over the years, rumors have swirled that Moore had undergone almost $500,000 in cosmetic surgeries, from a facelift to breast augmentation to liposuction to a kneecap lift.

“[The plastic surgery rumors are] completely false,” Demi said. “I’ve never had it done. I don’t like the idea of having an operation to hold up the aging process. The scalpel won’t make you happy.”

Despite looking superfit and far younger than her years, Moore says her advancing age has hurt her career. “The frustrating part is that the type of roles I’d be interested in are not really coming to me,” she says.

“I hate to say it’s a function of my age—but yes, I think in some ways it is. The majority of [female] roles are geared between [women ages] 25 and 35.”

Meanwhile, Demi stays in shape by doing Pilates, yoga, and working out to P90X DVDs, a butt-busting home-fitness regimen that features cardio, strength-training and yoga programs. In addition, Moore follows an organic diet and practices portion control.

Moore met Kutcher and married him in 2005.

“The most overwhelming part of meeting someone that you already felt you had such a deep and old connection with is that your feelings are greater than the time you’ve had to actually be with one another,” Moore says.

“Now we’ve had the physical time together. The love he has for me makes me a better person by giving me the courage to take risks. I can fail and have someone who loves me just the same. I never knew it was quite possible.”

She says their lives revolve around Demi’s three girls, Rumer, 21, Scout, 18, and Tallulah, 15, all fathered by Bruce Willis.

Moore says having children with Kutcher is still a possiblility. “Everything is possible!” the star said in a recent interview.

Despite having trouble finding suitable roles, Moore stars in two new indie films, “Happy Tears” and “The Joneses.”

This lady looks good for being middle aged. I will be interested to see if she has plastic surgery in the next couple years. The years coming up are going to be hard.

  • I like how she uses P90X to stay in shape. It shows how versitile this program is for people.

somehow this nice lady does not get the respect she deserves. our world today just can not accept the age difference between demi and austin.too bad. they will live their lives on their terms.thats how it should be. let’s leave them alone.
