A London woman and a Los Angeles man have spent a combined $130,000 in plastic surgery procedures to resemble their idols, Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber.
Claire Leeson, 24, said she spent more than $30,000 to get breast implants, hair extensions and other cosmetic enhancements to look like Kim because she was ruthlessly bullied for being ugly.
“I was told every day that I was the ‘ugliest thing alive’ and I should kill myself,” Leeson told ITV’s This Morning. Now that she looks more like Kardashian, Claire’s self-confidence has shot through the roof.
“[Now] I feel like no one can stop me and I can make something of myself,” said Claire. “I feel strong.”
Leeson said she tried to commit suicide twice after relentless school bullying drove her into a deep depression.
Since then, Claire has gotten breast implants, and other cosmetic enhancements, including teeth whitening, butt padding, spray tans, nail treatments, and hair extensions.
Leeson soon wants to have the fat removed from parts of her body and injected into her butt to mimic Kardashian’s bootylicious curves.
While Claire occasionally gets work as a Kim Kardashian impersonator, she’s in “major debt.” Still, Leeson doesn’t regret her plastic-surgery makeover because it has made her dramatically happier and more confident.
Singer Spends $100,000 to Look Like Justin Bieber
Similarly, Toby Sheldon, a 33-year-old Los Angeles singer/songwriter, has spent more than $100,000 in plastic surgeries to look like Justin Bieber.
Sheldon was recently featured on the reality TV series “Botched,” where he revealed why he’s obsessed with Bieber (see video).
“What brought me to Bieber was the whole package,” said Toby. “The full cheeks, the full temples, the bright, open eyes, the full, luscious lips and his facial framing, his bangs and his full head of hair.”
Sheldon has gotten hair transplants, lip surgery, and liposuction to mimic Justin’s six-pack abs. He would soon like to get his forehead reduced and jaw-reduction surgery.
However, several plastic surgeons have refused to perform additional surgery on Toby, saying they’re not necessary. But Sheldon remained determined. “I’ve been turned down by surgeons before and look what happened,” he said.
Plastic surgery is more popular than ever, but not a decision to make lightly. While plastic surgery can dramatically enhance your appearance, it’s important to consider all aspects (both emotional and physical) before taking the plunge, said Jean Loftus, author of The Smart Woman’s Guide to Plastic Surgery.
