Cheryl Burke, who recently lost about 30 pounds, said Rob Kardashian politely turned down her offer to help with his weight-loss efforts.

Burke and Kardashian became close friends when they were partners on season 13 of “Dancing With the Stars” in 2011.

“We have talked about it in the past,” Burke told Life & Style. “I have talked about it with the family.”

Cheryl said Rob, who wants to lose 70 to 100 pounds, politely turned down her weight-loss help, saying he prefers to continue training with celebrity fitness coach Gunnar Peterson.

Gunnar, creator of Core Secrets: 25 Minute Full Body Workout, helped Khloe Kardashian lose 30 pounds last year. Peterson also trains Kim Kardashian, who lost 56 pounds in six months on a low-carb, ketogenic-style Atkins diet.

Burke said she respects Rob’s decision and wishes him the best. “I hope he takes care of himself,” said Cheryl. “I’m there for him.”

Meanwhile, Rob’s sister Kim looks phenomenal after losing 56 pounds just six months after giving birth to daughter North. She followed a ketogenic-style low-carb Atkins diet that limited her daily carb intake to about 50 grams.

The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, low-carb, moderate-protein diet that has been shown to produce rapid weight loss without hunger and fight disease.

Kim’s daily Atkins meal plan combined proteins like fish, chicken and meat; healthy fats like olive oil, avocados and nuts; low-starch vegetables, and some low-glycemic fruits like berries, Linda O’Byrne, Atkins chief nutritionist, told me.

Focusing on healthy fats and limiting carbs promotes weight loss by inducing the body to burn body fat for fuel, said Dr. Jeff Volek, author of The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living.
