Kim Kardashian posed nude for “Paper” magazine to boost her self-confidence after her 56-pound weight loss on a low carb ketogenic Atkins diet.
Kardshian made the revelations on the Australian TV show “The Project,” where she said posing naked was empowering.
“I felt really positive and really good about myself,” said Kim. “I love the photos. I did it for me. I hope other people like them.”
Kardashian added: “I was so honored and excited to work with [photographer Jean-Paul Goude] because he is a legend, and for me that was something I wanted to do to make myself feel confident.”
Kim, who first became famous after her infamous sex tape was “leaked,” said she’s not suggesting that other people pose nude to boost their self-image, but it worked for her.
“I’m not saying anyone else should do that, but for me it was an art project and it taught me to do what you want to do,” she said.
Meanwhile, plastic surgeons say Kardashian’s over-the-top curves are due to plastic surgery and tons of liposuction, Examiner reported.
“Without a doubt she had something done, probably two Brazilian butt lifts,” said plastic surgeon Dr. John Zannis. Dr. Zannis said Kim most likely lipo-suctioned the fat from her torso, stomach, love handles and lower back and had it injected into her buttocks.
However, Kim has long insisted that her face and body are 100% natural. At this point, though, does it really matter? She looks hot.
Kardashian, who was viciously fat-shamed during her pregnancy, had previously vowed to pose nude once she slimmed down after giving birth, so her nude photo spread isn’t surprising.
Focusing on healthy fats and limiting carbs promotes rapid weight loss by forcing the body to burn fat for fuel, said obesity expert Dr. Eric Westman, author of Keto Clarity.
In addition to accelerating weight loss, the low-carb, high-fat Atkins and ketogenic diets have been touted for fighting depression and bipolar disorder.
Dietitian Dr. Jeff Volek, a professor at Ohio State University, agrees. “It was nothing short of an epiphany when I changed to a ketogenic diet 20 years ago,” Dr. Volek, author of the Art and Science of Low-Carbohydrate Living, told me. “I felt better, more satiated, and had more consistent energy.”
Kardashian’s low carb weight loss brought low-carb diets squarely into the mainstream. At this point, it appears Kim can sell just about anything. She’s a bona fide mover-and-shaker, in every sense of the word.
