Giada de Laurentiis Shares Thanksgiving Meal Plans: Her Weight Loss and Diet Secrets

giada de laurentiis stressFood Network star Giada De Laurentiis loves the holidays, and says you can enjoy a stress-free Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s with a few simple tips.

“I do a lot of yoga,” De Laurentiis told Access Hollywood. “If I don’t have time for that, I take a morning walk on the beach or just some deep breaths, even if it’s for 10 minutes.

“I’ll even go into the bathroom and listen to music, Coldplay or Fleetwood Mac, something soothing.”

Yoga promotes relaxation and weight loss by reducing stress, building lean muscles and suppressing appetite, said Jennifer Aniston’s yoga teacher, Mandy Ingber, author of the bestseller Yogalosophy.

De Laurentiis also organizes a Thanksgiving potluck so all her guests can feel like they’re a part of the festivities.

“That’s what’s so great about cooking and eating and sharing meals – it’s communal,” said the Italian beauty, author of Giada at Home.

The size-2 De Laurentiis recently made headlines after sources claimed her weight loss secret is basically starving herself, Examiner reported.

“When Giada films her cooking show, she never eats. Never,” said a source. “When she is making drinks and food that she has to drink or eat, they have a dump bucket that is brought out the second they cut. She does not eat at all while filming.”

However, De Laurentiis’ rep denied the rumors, saying Giada definitely eats the food she prepares on her cooking shows. “She absolutely eats her own food while filming,” said her rep.

De Laurentiis’s weight loss secrets are a portion-controlled diet and yoga workouts, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported. “Small portions [are the key to staying thin],” she said.

De Laurentiis shared her diet secrets and her favorite recipes in her book Giada’s Feel-Good Food: My Healthy Recipes and Secrets.
