Gwyneth Paltrow is an Oscar-winning actress and the author of three best-selling cookbooks, but was rejected from writing a food blog on Yahoo because she doesn’t have a college degree.

According to the NYTimes, Marissa Mayer, the CEO of Yahoo, thought Gwyneth wasn’t good enough to write for Yahoo because she “disapproved of the fact that Paltrow did not graduate college.”

Mayer, a prestige snob who graduated from Stanford University, routinely asks her Yahoo deputies where they attended college before making a judgment about their competence.

Gwyneth briefly attended the University of California at Santa Barbara before dropping out to launch her acting career.

Paltrow now runs a popular health/fitness blog called Goop and has written thre best-selling cookbooks, including My Father’s Daughter and It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes.

Gwyneth, a longtime workout fanatic, plans to launch a line of apparel and beauty products soon and wants to become her generation’s Martha Stewart.

The willowy 5-foot-9 Paltrow works out up to two hours a day with longtime friend and trainer Tracy Anderson, Examiner reported. Their workouts emphasize using light weights (no more than three pounds) and high repetitions of toning moves to sculpt lean muscle.

“Doing some cardiovascular exercise everyday is really good for my skin for detoxification and skin tone and color,” said Paltrow. “I do the Tracy Anderson Method, so I dance for an hour.”
