Kim Kardashian’s airport outfit cost a shocking $2,642 for a black hoodie, black jeans and sunglasses.
Kardashian wore the pricey hoodie/jeans ensemble while flying from Los Angeles to New York on April 20 to attend the TIME 100 Gala, where both she and husband Kanye West were among the honorees.
Kim’s $2,642 outfit from head to toe included the following, according to Us:
- Vetements bell-sleeved hoodie ($870)
- J Brand “Photo Ready Distressed Cropped Skinny” jeans ($227)
- Vintage Tom Ford peep-toe booties.
- Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses ($395) and
- Crocodile Givenchy bag ($1,150).
Of course, Kardashian likely did not pay for her clothes or accessories, since she usually gets paid by designers to be photographed wearing their outfits, where they are seen by millions of people online and in magazines.
Kim remains in great shape and has maintained her 56-pound weight loss with diet and exercise. Kardashian previously attributed her 56-pound post-baby weight loss to the low-carb ketogenic-inspired Atkins diet and waist training, Examiner reported.
Waist-training, or the “Corset Diet,” is a weight loss trend some women use to winnow down their midsection.
“This is a remarkable way to train your waist to be smaller,” said plastic surgeon Dr. Alexander Sinclair, who claims some of his patients have lost up to six inches.
Kim said she wore a waist trainer to bed every night to make her waist smaller ahead of her May 2014 wedding to Kanye West. The measure sounds drastic, but actress Jessica Alba has credited wearing double corsets around the clock for three months for her dramatic post-baby weight loss.
Similarly, Brooke Burke Charvet, creator of the Transform Your Body workout DVD, said wearing a corset was responsible for her stunning post-baby weight loss after each of her four pregnancies.
“Wrapping your post-partum belly is a concept that has been around for centuries,” said Burke Charvet, who has her own line of belly wraps called Baboosh. “It works as a compression garment. It helps the swelling of the uterus go back down to its original size and it supports all that baggy baby skin. It is a great, great way to get back in shape.”
In addition to waist training, Kim credited rigorous workouts and a low carb ketogenic style Atkins diet for her 56-pound post-baby weight loss. Focusing on healthy fats and going low-carb promotes rapid weight loss by forcing the body to burn fat for fuel, said obesity expert Dr. Eric Westman, co-author of Keto Clarity.
Kardashian’s ketogenic Atkins diet consisted of 1,800 to 2,200 calories and limited daily carb intake to less than 60 grams. Kim’s daily menu combined proteins such as fish, chicken and meat and healthy fats like olive oil, avocados and nuts.
Low-carb diets keep blood sugar levels stable and prevent food cravings, which helps with mental clarity and boosts mood, said Colette Heimowitz, author of The New Atkins Made Easy.
Dietitian Dr. Jeff Volek, a professor at Ohio State University, agrees. “It was nothing short of an epiphany when I changed to a ketogenic diet 20 years ago,” Dr. Volek, author of the Art and Science of Low-Carbohydrate Living, told me. “I felt better, more satiated, and had more consistent energy.”
