Miranda Lambert always looks good, even without a drop of makeup.
“I don’t wear a lot of makeup at home,” Lambert told People. “When I’m just off and hanging out I just put on some tinted moisturizer, sunscreen and mascara. And lip gloss! It’s kind of an addiction.”
While she has a glam squad do her makeup and hair for music video shoots and the red carpet, Miranda does her own hair and makeup when she’s on the road.
“On tour I do my own hair and makeup,” said Lambert, 31. “That’s my time to focus and calm down, listen to music and warm up a little bit. I have a product bag the size of Texas – just makeup and hair stuff and curling irons.”
Her husband, country superstar Blake Shelton loves the low-maintenance Miranda, saying he prefers her without makeup.
“He’s one of those dudes who’s like, ‘You look prettier without it,'” said Lambert. “I think, ‘Stop! Really? This took me three hours!’ But he doesn’t care. He sees me the same, whether I have a whole glam squad or I’m just hanging out at home.”
Meanwhile, Miranda has successfully maintained her 45-pound weight loss, thanks to a portion-controlled diet and circuit-training workouts.
During the past year, Lambert’s three-year marriage to fellow country superstar Blake Shelton has made headlines, as tabloids claimed the couple was on the brink of divorce.
Miranda has slammed the divorce speculation, saying she relies on Shelton to keep her calm when she’s down or anxious. “I’m not sunshine and roses,” she said. “Blake’s the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness. Literally, everything is the best about being married.”
Lambert, who has sold more than 5 million albums, recently dropped her fifth album, Platinum, which won album of the year at the 2014 CMA Awards.
