Kourtney Kardashian has lost about 45 pounds just five months after giving birth to her third child, and said her weight loss secrets include an organic diet, yoga workouts and waist training.
“I’ve been working out with a trainer, and having somebody else to work out with really helps motivate me,” Kourtney told Harper’s Bazaar.
“Some days Khloe will join me, or I have a girlfriend I’ve been working out with. Just setting that trainer session and knowing I’m not going to flake. I also try to eat really clean and at home as much as I can.”
Kourtney, a longtime fitness fanatic, stayed healthy during her pregnancy by following an organic diet and doing yoga workouts.
Kardashian credits an organic diet for her glowing skin, toned bikini body and youthful appearance.
“Good health begins with what you put in your body,” said fitness expert Elizabeth Stein, author of Eating Purely. “When you eat better, you feel better. It’s that simple.”
Yoga promotes relaxation and natural weight loss by reducing stress, building lean muscles and suppressing appetite, said Jennifer Aniston’s yoga teacher, Mandy Ingber, author of Yogalosophy.
In 2013, Kourtney lost 44 pounds just six months after giving birth to her second child with an organic diet and daily workouts, Examiner reported.
The 5-foot-tall Kourtney, who slimmed down from 150 pounds to a svelte 106 pounds, ran or did calisthenics on the days she doesn’t work out with her trainer. On other days, Kardashian exercised at home using Tracy Anderson’s 90-minute dance-cardio workouts.
Anderson, who also trains Kim Kardashian, shared her diet and workout secrets for rapid weight loss in her bestseller, Tracy Anderson’s 30-Day Method.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian is fitter than ever after losing 56 pounds on a low-carb, ketogenic-style Atkins diet that limited her daily carb intake to less than 60 grams.
Low-carb diets such as the Atkins, Paleo and ketogenic diets accelerate weight loss by forcing your body to burn fat for fuel, said obesity expert Dr. Eric Westman, co-author of Keto Clarity.
Kim, Khloe and Kourtney have also credited corset waisting training for flattening their bellies. Waist-training, or the “Corset Diet,” is a weight loss trend some women use to winnow down their midsection.
“This is a remarkable way to train your waist to be smaller,” said plastic surgeon Dr. Alexander Sinclair, who claims some of his patients have lost up to six inches.
Kim said she wore a waist trainer to bed every night to make her waist smaller ahead of her May 2014 wedding to Kanye West. The measure sounds drastic, but actress Jessica Alba has credited wearing double corsets around the clock for three months for her dramatic post-baby weight loss.
Similarly, Brooke Burke Charvet, creator of the Transform Your Body workout DVD, said wearing a corset was responsible for her stunning post-baby weight loss after each of her four pregnancies.
“Wrapping your post-partum belly is a concept that has been around for centuries,” said Burke Charvet, who has her own line of belly wraps called Baboosh. “It works as a compression garment. It helps the swelling of the uterus go back down to its original size and it supports all that baggy baby skin. It is a great, great way to get back in shape.”
