Radical remission is when a patient’s cancer spontaneously disappears for no known medical reason.
Doctors don’t know how or why this happens, but Dr. Kelly Turner has personally witnessed radical remission among numerous cancer patients.
Dr. Turner, author of Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds, said the common link among patients who experience radical remission is a deep commitment to positive thinking and gratitude.
Dr. Turner said just spending five minutes a day feeling grateful can release healing hormones throughout your body that boosts your immune system.
In March 2014, Turner appeared on the Dr. Oz Show, where his guest was a 50-year-old woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 35. She underwent several surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy and was given just 5 years to live.
The woman embarked on a spiritual journey and focused all her emotional energy on healing her cancer. After 18 months of her positive-thinking/gratitude therapy, her cancer spontaneously disappeared. She has been in remission for 13 years.
Similarly, actress Valerie Harper is alive and well two years after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Harper, 75, was given just three months to live when her cancer was discovered in January 2013.
In 2014, Harper revealed she was close to remission, Examiner reported.
Valerie Harper said she has read Radical Remission, and follows the principles of positive thinking and gratitude on a daily basis. Valerie believes this practice has helped her manage her cancer.
Harper said she’s not sure why she’s still alive, but has been treating her leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a rare incurable brain cancer, with acupuncture, herbal teas and exercising daily with Tony Cacciotti, her husband of 27 years.
Harper said she spends a lot of time visualizing herself beating cancer and being healthy. Valerie said visualization is critical for beating disease because your mind exerts a lot of power over body’s health.
Dr. Turner agrees, saying positive thinking, feeling grateful, eliminating toxins from your diet, and deepening spiritual connections are common traits patients who experience radical cancer remission.
