Ange Kagame, the First Daughter of Rwanda, has joined the Susan G. Komen Greater NYC Young Professionals Committee (YPC).
Ange Kagame is the daughter of Paul Kagame, the current President of Rwanda. Ange will help the YPC with its grassroots fundraising efforts to provide services to underserved communities in New York City, Long Island, Westchester, and Rockland Counties.
Kagame, a recent graduate of Smith College, is honored to join the Komen Greater NYC’s efforts to raise awareness of breast cancer, both locally and worldwide.
“I am so excited and truly honored to be a part of such an amazing and inspiring charity,” said Ange. “I hope to continue her good work with Susan G. Komen Greater NYC and raise awareness of breast cancer both in New York and Rwanda.
“Breast cancer is a significant and growing problem in lower and middle income countries. I’m looking forward to building awareness for early detection and recovery.”
Paul Kagame, the first democratically elected president of Rwanda, embodies the new Rwandan political philosophy.
Kagame’s extraordinary life, from exiled child refugee to guerilla warrior to President of Rwanda, is detailed in the book, Paul Kagame and Rwanda.
