Bristol Palin, an abstinence advocate and daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, is pregnant with baby No. 2. Sources claim the father is former fiance Dakota Meyer.
Bristol announced her pregnancy on her blog June 25, where she expressed “disappointment” over the prospect of having a second baby out of wedlock.
Palin, 24, said she made the pregnancy announcement earlier than she had wanted to in order to silence the Internet “trolls” who constantly criticize her.
“I’m announcing this news a lot sooner than I ever expected due to the constant trolls who have nothing better to talk about!!” wrote Bristol. “I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you.”
Palin continued: “I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy. When life gets tough, there is no other option but to get tougher.”
Ironically, the former teen mom was previously an abstinence ambassador for the Candie’s Foundation, which had hired Bristol in 2009 to promote abstinence before marriage as part of a campaign to prevent teenage pregnancy.
Amazingly, Bristol was paid $262,500 for her 2009 abstinence speaking tour, Examiner reported. During her speeches, Palin urged teenage girls to not have premarital sex (like she did).
Bristol caused a scandal during her mom Sarah Palin’s 2008 vice presidential campaign after revealing she was pregnant out of wedlock by then-boyfriend Levi Johnston.
Bristol, then 18, gave birth to son Tripp in December 2008. She and Levi were briefly engaged but later broke up.
Bristol’s single-mom status became the butt of jokes because her conservative mom, Sarah Palin, had taken a public stance for abstinence before marriage. Sarah Palin was ridiculed as a hypocrite when the press learned her daughter was not only having premarital sex, but had gotten pregnant.
Bristol has not revealed who the father of her second baby is. Unconfirmed sources say the father is former fiance Dakota Meyer.
Bristol Palin detailed her harrowing experiences as a single mom in her 2011 book, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far.
