Jillian Michaels showcased her hot bikini body on the July/August cover of Shape magazine, where she revealed her fitness secrets are a healthy diet and consistent workouts.
Michaels says consistency is key when it comes to exercise, Examiner reported.
“Consistency is the key to getting results,” Jillian told Shape. “If you’re pushing yourself to work beyond your comfort zone for four rounds, four days a week with this routine, you’ll notice your body starts to change within the first two weeks.”
Jillian said her Body Shred workout DVD is an effective high-intensity interval training workout (HIIT) that delivers maximum results in minimal time.
The 5-foot-3 Michaels, who once weighed 175 pounds, has easily maintained her 55-pound weight loss with exercise and a healthy diet that eliminates processed junk foods.
Michaels said her best body part are her sculpted abs, and credits plank poses (such as side, extended and imbalanced) held for a full minute for her flat belly. Jillian revealed her fat blasting workout secrets in her fitness video, Jillian Michaels: 30 Day Shred.
Michaels, who was 55 pounds heavier as a kid, said her weight problems made her more sympathetic to overweight and obese people.
“I thank God every day for the exact life that I’ve had,” she said. “Having been that kid who was bullied has made me identify with the have-nots of the world. I understand what people are going through.”
Jillian said she was bullied not just for being overweight, but also for her big nose. At age 16, Michaels got a nose job and said the plastic surgery changed her life, Examiner reported.
“I had my nose done when I was 16 years old, and I’ll be honest, it did change my life,” said Michaels. “Not to say you should let your physicality define you, but there are some things that can make people feel really insecure.”
Jillian, who left “The Biggest Loser” in 2014 after a major falling-out with producers, said the one beauty product she can’t live without is coconut oil.
“I use coconut oil for everything,” she said. “It’s antimicrobial, it’s anti-fungal, and it’s moisturizing.” Recent studies also show coconut oil aids weight loss.
The 5-foot-2 Michaels, who once tipped the scales at 175 pounds, has successfully maintained her 55-pound weight loss for 20 years. She revealed her diet and workout secrets in her bestseller, Slim for Life: My Insider Secrets.
