Salma Hayek sizzles in a topless photo for the August 2014 issue of Allure, where she revealed her anti-aging beauty and fitness secrets. Unlike other celebrities, Salma hasn’t had Botox and isn’t a fan of plastic surgery.
“When I was young, they tried to sell me on the idea: ‘If you do [Botox] now, then you won’t get the wrinkles,'” Hayek told Allure. “And thank God I didn’t do that.”
Salma, who bared her famous cleavage in a stunning black-and-white topless photo, said her happy marriage to billionaire François-Henri Pinault has made her feel more confident and beautiful than ever.
“I wish I knew [when I was younger] that I was going to fall crazy in love with the perfect man,” said Hayek, who married Pinault in 2009. “I was so worried, and I dated some people I shouldn’t have dated. You get desperate, and you start seeing wonderful things in the wrong guys.”
Salma continued: “I also found some pretty good guys. But I wish I could say to myself, ‘Hey, chill out. You’re going to get a great husband that’s going to adore you.’ I would have saved myself a lot of personal drama.”
Hayek’s other anti-aging beauty and fitness secrets include a sensible diet, restorative yoga workouts and careful skincare, as Celebrity Health & Fitness previously reported.
Salma hates structured exercise and prefers to do restorative yoga, a gentle form of yoga that uses props to promote mindfulness and relaxation.
“Some people have the discipline to exercise in the morning, and I didn’t develop that,” said Hayek. “I don’t have time to exercise. I am working. I’ve had some 20-hour [work] days.”
Salma continued: “I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long, so even when you brush your teeth, you’re working the muscles.
“She taught me to tone [my muscles] without clenching them. You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you’re aware of your body, you’d be surprised by the effect it can have.”
Restorative yoga helps you de-stress, improves sleep and benefits your entire body, said Gail Boorstein Grossman, author of Restorative Yoga for Life.
Hayek’s beauty secrets include a rejuvenating lotion for burn victims that heals your skin.
“I use an ingredient called Tepezcohuite that’s used in Mexico for burn victims because it completely regenerates the skin, and there’s no one in the States who is using this ingredient except for us,” said Salma.
Salma added: “Some of the ingredients, when I took them to the American labs, they were like ‘How come nobody is using this?’ This is why I have no Botox, no peels, no fillings. I’m 48. I will be 49 this year and I only use my creams.”
Hayek recently launched her own line of anti-aging skincare and haircare products called Salma Hayek Nuance, for which she is clearly a fantastic spokesmodel.
Salma, who has gotten even more beautiful with age, swears by the Nuance Correcting Spot Treatment, which she claims zaps acne and other blemishes.
“If you put it on at night, you have nothing the next day,” said Hayek. “It has licorice extract, so not only does it help take away the pimple, but it helps lighten the blemish.”
Hayek said she has gotten happier and healthier with age because she has learned to slow down and enjoy life more.
“I begin [my day] with coffee,” said Salma. “Not the greatest, but that’s what I do. And sometimes I like Yerba Mate tea when I run out of juice, and I love eggs. Boiled eggs, poached eggs. Sometimes what I do is have—even if they’re boiled—three whites and one yolk.”
