Supermodel Elle Macpherson, who has a hot bikini body at 51, said her anti-aging beauty and makeup secrets include daily exfoliation and sunscreen.
“I exfoliate my face every day and my body twice a day,” Elle told Redbook.
“I shower in the morning and the evening. I use a body brush, which boosts circulation, and I always moisturize afterward.”
Macpherson, whose anti-aging fitness secrets include a low-carb alkaline diet, yoga and outdoor workouts, uses sunscreen every day because she loves being outside.
“I love being outdoors and doing sports like swimming, biking, and hiking,” said Elle, 51. “As I’ve gotten older, I’ve increased my joy factor. Even if I’m in New York City or London, I’ll choose to walk rather than exercise in a gym.”
Macpherson is diligent about sun protection to prevent wrinkles and age spots. “I wear broad-spectrum SPF daily,” said Elle.
Macpherson, who has made the cover of hundreds of magazines during her modeling career, prefers natural-looking makeup to enhance her features and minimize fine lines.
“I’m not very precise, so I’ll add a bit of black eyeliner and smudge it with my finger and a Q-tip, then I put on lip liner and gloss,” said Elle.
“I use RMS Un Cover-Up concealer to hide my sun spots and dark circles, but I use powder sparingly, mainly just around my eyes.”
At 51, Elle said she feels more confident and happier than ever. “I feel very secure within myself — strong, happy, and motivated,” she said.
At 51, Macpherson maintains her sexy bikini body with a low-carb alkaline diet and daily exercise that includes yoga.
Elle’s anti-aging diet, which excludes red meat, caffeine, wheat and alcohol, keeps her skin looking radiant and her body naturally lean, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported.
Elle, a longtime fitness fanatic, said she noticed dramatic health changes within two weeks of switching to the alkaline diet.
“I noticed changes in just two weeks,” said Macpherson. “I had more vitality, my skin wasn’t dry, I stopped craving sugar, my mood stabilized, everything became more balanced. A welcome byproduct was losing weight around my middle.”
The alkaline diet includes plenty of fresh green vegetables, fruits, beans, lentils, spices, seeds and nuts. The theory is that eating a diet high in alkaline-producing foods will minimize acid buildup in our bodies (which fuels inflammation, aging, and weight gain).

“Some of my favorite foods are spinach, beetroot, goat’s cheese, pearl barley, kale, quinoa, pine nuts, halloumi,” said Elle. “I eat fish, but no red meat or chicken.”
Low carb diets such as the ketogenic, Paleo and Atkins diets fuel rapid weight loss by forcing the body to burn fat for fuel, said obesity expert Dr. Eric Westman, co-author of Keto Clarity.
Macpherson also exercises every day, doing a combination of yoga, running, swimming, hiking, and cycling. “I can’t ever remember doing something physical and feeling worse,” said Elle.
Whatever she’s doing is work great, as Macpherson looks better than most women half her age. And the best part is, she feels as great as she looks.
