Supermodel Christie Brinkley has a hot bikini body at 61, thanks to a vegan diet and regular exercise that includes yoga workouts and weightlifting.
Brinkley showcased her fit body in a white bikini on Instagram July 17 while vacationing in Italy. In the bikini photo, Christie relaxes on a boat as she sails near Stromboli, a small island off the coast of Sicily.
Brinkley is vacationing with her son Jack Cook and daughters, Alexa Ray Joel and Sailor Cook.
At 61, Brinkley barely shows her age, thanks to her longtime vegan diet and yoga workouts.
“[My fitness secret is the] Total Gym,” said Brinkley. “I really do use it! It keeps me limber and able to get out there and do what I want to do, and be active.”
Brinkley also lifts weights and does yoga and cardio workouts, including spinning and running.
Yoga is anti-aging and promotes natural weight loss by reducing stress, building lean muscles and suppressing appetite, said Jennifer Aniston’s yoga teacher, Mandy Ingber, author of Yogalosophy.
Christie has also followed a vegetarian diet since age 12. “I’ve been a vegetarian since I was about 12 years old,” she said. “When I became a vegetarian I got my mom and dad to become vegetarian, and my brother became a vegetarian.”
Christie typically has oatmeal with mixed berries with breakfast, a large salad with beans and nuts for lunch, and pasta with vegetables for dinner.
