Victoria’s Secret supermodel Candice Swanepoel, who’s newly engaged to boyfriend Hermann Nicoli, said her beauty secrets involve a simple, inexpensive skincare regimen.
Swanepoel continued: “I use organic coconut oil to take my makeup off. I also add it to my smoothies to keep my skin glowing. It’s a great all-round natural beauty product. My mum taught me was that you can never be too young to start taking care of your skin. No matter how tired I am, I will never sleep in my makeup.”
To make her cheekbones pop, Candice swears by contouring to give her that model-angular look.
“Pat McGrath taught me all about contouring, which is really big right now,” Swanepoel told Vogue. “It’s also really important to find the right colors and shades for you. What may suit one person may not suit you, so find what works for your face shape and tones.”
Candice said her makeup essentials include a good foundation and lipstick.
“Max Factor’s Miracle Match foundation gives skin good coverage, but with a really light, nourished finish,” said Swanepoel.
“Also I love a red lipstick. I’m currently using the new Max Factor Lipfinity Lipstick. It’s really soft in texture, the color is really bright and it stays put.”
To keep her hair strong, shiny and healthy, Candice likes to tie it in a twisted bun when it’s wet to produce a natural wave when she puts it down.
“Bio Oil is my favorite product from back home in South Africa and I love using it on my hair and body,” said Swanepoel. Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, also uses Bio Oil to keep her skin wrinkle-free and minimize pregnancy-related stretch marks.
Candice’s bikini-body fitness secrets include a low-carb, high-protein diet and consistent workouts, Examiner reported.
Low-carb diets such as the Atkins, ketogenic and Atkins diets promote weight loss by inducing the body to burn fat for fuel, said obesity expert Dr. Eric Westman, author of Keto Clarity.
For exercise, Swanepoel boxes, strength-trains and does Pilates and yoga workouts.
“I do a lot of yoga, boxing when I have energy, Pilates on the reformer and lots of resistance training,” said Swanepoel. “I love yoga for the spiritual and physical sides. I meditate through yoga.”
