Oprah Winfrey lost 15 pounds on the Weight Watchers diet and pocketed $70 million in one day after buying a 10% stake in the weight loss company.
Oprah has lost 15 pounds since Aug. 12 by following the Weight Watchers diet, Examiner reported.
“Weight Watchers has given me the tools to begin to make the lasting shift that I and so many of us who are struggling with weight have longed for,” said Winfrey. “I believe in the program so much I decided to invest in the company.”
In addition to helping Oprah lose weight, Weight Watchers has made the billionaire even richer.
Oprah made $70 million in one day just hours after announcing she had acquired a 10% interest in Weight Watchers, as the company’s stock prices skyrocketed following her announcement,
“Since August 12, I’ve lost 15 pounds,” Oprah said on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. “Weight Watchers has given me the tools to have accountability to myself.”

The Weight Watchers program focuses on portion control, mindful eating and a point system that enables dieters to keep track of their caloric intake.
Winfrey, whose weight has fluctuated dramatically through the years, is thrilled with her 15-pound weight loss, but said she has finally made peace after years of hating her body.
“All the years I dieted, complained, and was less than satisfied with my shape have yielded to a new perspective, an appreciation for the body that’s brought me this far,”Oprah wrote in O, The Oprah Magazine. “I’ve spent too many years resisting, neglecting and negating my body.”

Oprah, who once pined for Diana Ross’ slim hips, starts every morning by standing in front of the mirror in her pajamas blessing her body, from the feet that hold her up, to the head that helps her execute her vision of empowering others.
Winfrey, who once weighed 237 pounds, no longer worries about being skinny, but about being strong and healthy.
“Think about it: You get one chance to be 25, 38, 44, 61 and every age before and between,” said Oprah. “Why wouldn’t you want to experience all the wonder in each step on your path?”
Winfrey continued: “My heart has been beating for 60 years. The feet I stand on have carried me for 60 years.’ And when you think about it that way, you can be nothing but grateful.”
