Kelly Ripa has a sizzling bikini body at 45, thanks to her anti-aging diet and exercise.
While most people hate working out, Ripa said she has to exercise every day to keep her body fit and her mind calm, Examiner reported.
“There are a lot of people that don’t have to work out, and I am so happy for them, but I have to work out for my body type,” said Kelly. “It’s part of my routine. It’s part of my ritual. It doesn’t just make me look better, but it makes me emotionally feel better.”
Ripa’s workouts vary from day to day: She takes cardio dance classes four days a week, does SoulCycle twice a week and runs one day a week.
Kelly’s diet secret is a vegan-based alkaline diet that reduces the acid in your diet, thereby promoting weight loss, improving digestion and gives you glowing skin.
“The Alkaline Diet is primarily a vegan diet, but I like cream in my coffee,” said Ripa. “I like to have a glass of wine, so I don’t adhere to it strictly, but when I do a cleanse, it will be 7 days, and then I go back to my normal life. But my normal life is not that different than the alkaline cleanse.”
Kelly recently did an alkaline cleanse after suffering repeated injuries such as stress fractures and pulled muscles. She swears her low-acid diet has dramatically improved her chronic muscle pain.
“I swear, I think it’s responsible for me not being in pain,” gushed the mom of three.
Kelly said unlike other diets that call for severe calorie restriction, her Alkaline Diet enables her to eat a lot, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported.
“You’re not hungry. You eat,” said Ripa. “I actually eat much more on this cleanse than I do in my actual life, but it’s what you eat and how you eat it.”
Kelly joins a growing number of Hollywood celebrities who tout the weight loss and anti-aging health benefits of the Alkaline Diet, including Elle Macpherson and Victoria Beckham, who both credit the alkaline diet for their slammin’ bikini bodies.
The alkaline diet includes plenty of fresh green vegetables, fruits, beans, lentils, spices, seeds and nuts.
The theory is that eating a diet high in alkaline-producing foods will minimize acid buildup in our bodies (which fuels inflammation, aging, and weight gain), Examiner reported.
When you ingest too many acidic foods, your pH levels get disrupted, causing weight gain and disease, said Dr. Stephan Domenig, author of The Alkaline Cure.
“Many people start the day with coffee followed by toast and jam, cake for morning tea, then meat and a tiny amount of veg for dinner — all of these are acid-forming,” said Domenig.
The alkaline diet can transform your body and mind so you can embrace total health and well-being, said Marta Tuchowska, author of How to Lose Massive Weight with the Alkaline Diet.
