Christie Brinkley showed off her sexy supermodel legs at the Empire State Building in New York Dec. 2 to celebrate the launch of Smile Train’s “Give a Smile, Get a Smile” campaign.
Christie, 61, wore a cream-colored mini-dress with sexy thigh-high boots that accentuated her age-defying beauty.
Brinkley, who shared her anti-aging fitness and beauty secrets in her bestselling book, Timeless Beauty, credits a vegan diet and daily exercise for her supermodel bikini body.
“I made the decision [to become vegetarian at age 13] because I loved animals, but I’ve been reaping the benefits of that karma ever since,” said Brinkley (via Examiner). “I’ve avoided the constant antibiotic injections into animals and the [aging] growth hormones.”
Brinkley joins a growing number of celebrity vegetarians and vegans who are sold on the anti-aging health and weight loss benefits of a plant-based diet, including Jennifer Lopez and Demi Moore.
Christie has barely aged during the past two decades because she doesn’t allow her age to dictate how she feels.
“I don’t believe in allowing my age to define me,” Christie wrote in her book, Timeless Beauty. “I really believe attitude plays a huge part in how you feel. I really believe that being flexible and grateful contributes a lot to your happiness, which contributes to your health, and contributes to your look.”
Brinkley said her vices include espresso, but she believes coffee has health benefits based on scientific studies that show coffee is a rich source of antioxidants.
“I bought a Nespresso machine,” said Christie. “There’s plenty of studies to support drinking coffee. And I take vitamins, like Biosil, which I take for my hair, skin and nails.”
Brinkley is also a fan of regular laser skin treatments and daily sunscreen use to prevent wrinkles.
“I [wear] Neutrogena Wet Skin broad spectrum,” said Christie. “And I always have a hat!!”
Brinkley exercises every day, alternating between yoga and light weightlifting workouts. Christie also works out on the Total Gym, enjoys spinning classes and walking.
Brinkley, who has her own vegan skincare line, said her age-defying skincare secrets include daily exfoliating and moisturizing.
“My routine is very simple: I cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize,” said Christie. “I use the Olay Regenerist line and Clarins neck cream, and I’m religious about wearing sunscreen daily.”
Brinkley has been a successful spokesmodel for a variety of products for the past 40 years because she truly believes in every product she represents.
“I believe my longevity in my career is due to the fact that I’m very careful about what I endorse,” said Christie. “People know they can trust what I say.”
