Zach Galifianakis’ shocking weight loss was highlighted in recent paparazzi photos, where the “Hangover” star looks thinner than ever.

Galifianakis, who appears to have lost at least 70 pounds, credited an alcohol-free diet and walking workouts for his jaw-dropping weight loss, Examiner reported.

Zach began lost weight in 2012 after cutting alcohol (especially beer) from his diet. Galifianakis got so thin he had to wear a prosthetic belly for The Hangover Part III.

Galifianakis said he struggled with alcohol for years. Zach decided to stop drinking in 2012 after two guys spit in his face during a drunken episode New York.

Zach was furious after a guy driving a Jaguar cut him off when he was crossing the street.

“As he cut me off, I hit the car as hard as I could with my hand,” Galifianakis recalled. “I turn around, and it’s two huge, 6-foot-6 guys. They both, at the same time, spit in my face!”

Galifianakis said the episode was humiliating and scary, so he decided to stop drinking at that moment.

“I don’t know if you’ve ever been spit in the face non-sexually, but all I remember is being so stunned,” Zach recalled.

Another celebrity who has lost a dramatic amount of weight after eliminating alcohol is Tim McGraw, who lost 40 pounds with an alcohol-free Paleo diet and CrossFit workouts, Examiner reported. McGraw now has rippling 8-pack abs — at age 48.

Clinical trials show the alcohol-free Paleo diet reduces the risk of heart disease, helps with weight loss and promotes optimal health, said Dr. Loren Cordain, author of The Real Paleo Diet Cookbook.
