Sam Smith has successfully maintained his 50-pound weight loss for almost a year and looks better than ever.
Smith has been showing off his weight loss on Instagram, where he shares photos of his Paleo-style meals and gym workouts.
While Sam looks fantastic, he’s even more thrilled with how great he feels after adopting a low-carb Paleo-inspired diet, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported.
“I know this is very preachy, but if you can, try to find a way to be healthy,” he wrote on Instagram. “It will make you so much happier.”
Sam has credited British nutritionist Amelia Freer’s book, “Eat Nourish Glow,” for helping him lose a pound a day and dramatically improving his energy and overall health.

Smith said the diet principles in Eat Nourish Glow helped him shed weight quickly and improved every aspect of his life. Sam noted that he has not been paid to endorse Freer’s book.
The former couch potato said his weight loss motivated him to start exercising regularly.
Amelia Freer advocates a gluten-free Paleo-style diet that consists of high-quality proteins such as organic eggs, free-range chicken and plenty of vegetables.
Like Paleos, Freer avoids dairy, alcohol, processed foods, sugar and grains in her diet. Amelia promises natural weight loss and improved overall health if you follow the principles in Eat Nourish Glow.

The Paleo diet has a huge celebrity following, including Jessica Alba and Tim McGraw, who lost 40 pounds with the low-carb Paleo diet and CrossFit.
Research suggests the Paleo diet enhances weight loss, reduces blood pressure, and prevents cancer, diabetes, heart disease, depression, and even Alzheimer’s.
A recent study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition indicates the Paleo diet is twice as effective as other diets for promoting weight loss and reducing belly fat.

Clinical studies show the Paleo diet reduces heart disease, aids weight loss and can prevent cancer, said Loren Cordain, author of The Real Paleo Diet Cookbook.
Former biochemist Robb Wolf, author of The Paleo Solution, agrees. Wolf said Paleo isn’t a fad diet because it doesn’t emphasize calorie restriction, but instead focuses on a long-term eating plan consisting of protein, vegetables and high-quality fats.
