Adele 50 Pound Weight Loss Rocks Vogue: Vegetarian Diet And Workout Secrets

Singer Adele flaunted her 50-pound weight loss in the March 2016 issue of Vogue, where she revealed she’s happier than ever.

Adele overhauled her diet, stopped smoking, cut back on alcohol, and started exercising to get in shape for her upcoming world tour.

“I was trying to get some stamina for my tour so I lost a bit of weight,” Adele told Vogue. “Now I fit into normal, off-the-shelf clothes.”

While Adele has not revealed how many pounds she lost, she appears to have shed at least 50 pounds based on before-and-after photos.

Adele’s weight loss secret was a mostly vegetarian diet, Examiner reported. Adele said her fiance, Simon Konecki, inspired her to switch to a vegetarian diet in 2013.

Adele joins a long list of celebrity vegetarians and vegans, who credit a 100% plant-based diet for its weight loss and anti-aging health benefits. Other celebrity vegans include Beyonce and Carrie Underwood.

The 5-foot-7 Beyonce, who once weighed 195 pounds, has since maintained her weight loss and looks better than ever.

Similarly, Jennifer Lopez has credited Marco’s 22-day vegan diet for her 10-pound weight loss and age-defying beauty. The weight loss and anti-aging health benefits of a vegan or vegetarian diet aren’t surprising to physicians like Dr. Joel Fuhrman.

“The more greens you eat, the more weight you will lose,” said Dr. Fuhrman, author of The End of Dieting.

Dr. David Katz, director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center, agrees.

“A diet of minimally processed foods close to nature — predominantly plants — is decisively associated with health promotion and disease prevention,” said Dr. Katz, author of Disease-Proof.

Adele is no longer 100% vegetarian, but eats a lot more vegetables, and consumes a lot less sugar and alcohol.

“I used to drink 10 cups a day with two sugars in each, so I was on 20 [spoons of] sugars a day,” said Adele. “Now I don’t drink it and I have more energy than ever.”

Adele hates exercise, but works out regularly to build stamina for her tour, as Celebrity Health & Fitness previously reported.

“I’m not, like, skipping to the f*cken gym,” she said. “I don’t enjoy it. I do like doing weights.”

As a result of her weight loss, improved health and becoming a mom, Adele, 27, is happier than ever.

“I like myself more than ever,” said Adele, who gave birth to son Angelo in 2012. “I feel so comfortable in my own skin. I really like how I look. I like who I am. I like everyone that I surround myself with.”

Adele recently dropped her third studio album, 25. It’s the long-awaited followup to her smash-hit 2011 album, 21, which won six Grammy Awards.
