Sam Smith looks and feels fantastic after his 50-pound weight loss on a low-carb Paleo diet, but he has gotten so skinny anorexia speculation is mounting.
However, we think Sam looks healthy and is not anorexic or sick. In fact, Smith said he feels better and happier than ever after losing 50 pounds, and everyone should take his word on it.
Sam has maintained his jaw-dropping weight loss for almost a year after embarking on a low-carb, Paleo-style diet in March 2015, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported.
“I know this is very preachy, but if you can, try to find a way to be healthy,” Sam told fans on Instagram. “It will make you so much happier.”
Smith kickstarted his 50-pound weight loss after losing 14 pounds in 14 days with a Paleo-style diet. Sam, who had battled weight issues his entire life, was so inspired by his weight loss he started exercising.
Sam credited nutritionist Amelia Freer’s book, “Eat Nourish Glow,” for helping him lose a pound a day and dramatically improving his energy and health.
Smith said the diet principles in Eat Nourish Glow helped him shed weight quickly and improved every aspect of his life. Sam noted that he has not been paid to endorse Freer’s book.
Amelia Freer advocates a gluten-free Paleo-style diet that consists of high-quality proteins such as organic eggs, free-range chicken and plenty of vegetables.
Like Paleos, Freer avoids dairy, alcohol, processed foods, sugar and grains in her diet. Amelia promises natural weight loss and improved overall health if you follow the principles in Eat Nourish Glow.
The Paleo diet has a huge celebrity following, including Tim McGraw, who lost 40 pounds with the low-carb Paleo diet and CrossFit.
Similarly, Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush also lost 40 pounds with the Paleo diet and is in the best shape of his life at 63, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported.
Research suggests the Paleo diet enhances weight loss, reduces blood pressure, and prevents cancer, diabetes, heart disease, depression, and even Alzheimer’s.
A recent study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition indicates the Paleo diet is twice as effective as other diets for promoting weight loss and reducing belly fat.
Amelia Freer said her Eat Nourish Glow diet is not a weight loss plan, but a food philosophy that emphasizes nourishing your body with real food. Sam Smith agrees. “It’s not even about weight loss,” said Sam. “It’s about feeling happy in yourself.”
