Candace Cameron Bure Diet, Weight Loss And Workout Secrets At 40: Overcame Bulimia

Candace Cameron Bure celebrated her 40th birthday while co-hosting “The View.”

Bure, who stars on the Netflix series “Fuller House,” is fitter than ever now  after three kids  than she was in her 20s.

Candace, who battled bulimia as a teen, has maintained her 22-pound weight loss since 2010 after overcoming from the eating disorder bulimia.

Candace’s weight loss secrets were a portion-controlled diet and regular workouts that include weightlifting, cardio exercise, yoga and Pilates, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported.

Candace lost 22 pounds in 2010, slimming down to 110 pounds. Bure has maintained her weight loss since then with a portion-controlled diet and exercise.

While Cameron Bure is healthy now, she suffered from bulimia and experimented with diet pills as a teen. Candace recounted her bulimia struggles in her 2011 memoir, Reshaping It All:

“When I was 16, I filmed an episode of ‘Full House’ where my family goes to Disney World. I remember putting on baggy overalls just to hide my stomach. When I watched it, I was pretty disappointed and bummed out looking at myself. I didn’t feel good about my own body.”

Cameron Bure said she had a hard time adjusting to being a housewife and mom of three after “Full House” ended in 1995 and she was living in Canada with her husband, Russian-born NHL player Valeri Bure.

“When I first met Val, I would eat as much food as him, but then he would play hockey for three hours!” said Candace. “[Bulimia] wasn’t about me trying to lose weight. It was all about emotions.”

These days Candace works out for an hour four to five days a week. “I lift heavy weights for about 25 minutes with 35 minutes of cardio on the treadmill or elliptical,” said Cameron Bure.

The devout Christian revealed her weight loss secrets and how she juggles motherhood, marriage, and career in her books, Balancing It All, and Dancing Through Life.

“This book is a culmination of years being asked by many women how I’ve managed to have three kids and be in better shape now than I was at 18,” said Cameron Bure.

Candace continued: “Ultimately, Balancing It All is about putting 
your faith into the forefront of your relationship with food. I’ve 
included recipes, personal stories, photos and most importantly lots 
of practical information and advice to motivate you to get healthy.”
