Halle Berry maintains her smoking-hot bikini body at 50 with cardio exercise and cross-training workouts with her trainer, Nat Bardonnet.
Judging by her sleek bikini body, it’s hard to believe the brunette beauty is a 50-year-old mom of two.
Halle, who has type 1 diabetes, stays fit and healthy with a low carb, sugar-free diet and daily exercise, as Celebrity Health Fitness has reported.
Berry, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 19, follows a low-carb diet that features non-starchy vegetables and high-quality proteins.
Low carb diets manage diabetes because they prevent blood sugar spikes, said physician Dr. Richard Bernstein, author of The Diabetes Solution.
Dr. Bernstein, 82, has managed his type 1 diabetes with a low-carb diet since 1946.
Low carb diets also promote rapid weight loss, suppress appetite, and enhance mood, said Dr. Ludwig, a physician and Harvard nutrition professor.
Dr. Ludwig, author of Always Hungry? Conquer Cravings, Retrain Your Fat Cells, himself lost 20 pounds in 3 months on a low-carb diet without feeling hungry or counting calories.

In addition to diet, Halle works out with her trainer 3 days a week, and exercises at least 30 minutes a day on her own.
Like most people, Berry hates to work out, but said it keeps her diabetes under control.
“I do not love to work out,” said Halle. “But if I stick to exercising every day and put the right things in my mouth, my diabetes stays in check.”
